Refreshing India’s most loved ice cream brand.
Role: Account Manager & Art Director
Duration: 2016–2021
As part of the creative team behind Vadilal’s 360° rebrand, I helped modernize India’s largest and most beloved ice cream brand, a 100+ year old legacy, giving it a fresh, youthful edge while preserving its nostalgic charm. I collaborated closely with the creative head on packaging design, campaign visuals, and social media content, shaping a cohesive visual identity that brought new energy to every touchpoint, from the freezer to the feed.
Collaborated on the “Indulge in the Magic of Vadilal Ice Creams” campaign, working closely with directors and the production team from pre-production through post-production.
My role was to ensure that every visual element stayed in sync with Vadilal’s brand language and vision, helping translate the brand’s playful, vibrant identity into engaging, cinematic stories

Vadilal, a 100+ year-old ice cream brand, has been part of generations in India. While older audiences have a deep nostalgic connection, the brand needed to resonate with Millennials and Gen Z, first-jobbers and young adults, bringing its heritage into today’s cultural context. The challenge was to refresh the brand voice and make it relevant for a younger, digitally engaged audience while retaining its trusted identity.
-
Research revealed that younger consumers value experiences, self-expression, and small everyday joys. They connect with brands that celebrate life’s moments in a relatable, authentic way. Ice cream was not just a product but a medium for personal celebration, indulgence, and emotional connection.
-
The campaign positioned Vadilal Ice Creams as a companion to life’s little joys. Close collaboration with the client and copywriters drove the campaign’s direction, developing ad concepts that celebrated moments of triumph, quiet evenings, or simple indulgence. The campaign blended nostalgia with contemporary storytelling, making Vadilal appealing to Millennials and Gen Z while honoring its heritage.
